This OR That: High-Waisted Skinny Jeans

Topshop Joni Jean in Indigo: £36 // American Apparel Easy Jean in Dark Wash Indigo: £64
Since my old pair of Topshop semi-high waisted jeans decided to fall apart, I have been without a pair of dark jeans! The longer I got without them, the more I wholeheartedly believe that they are one of my wardrobe staples, and a new pair needs to be purchased ASAP! I favour the super high waisted styles floating around at the moment, like this Topshop Joni pair, and American Apparel Easy Jean. The reason for this is purely because this shape is so flattering, versatile and feminine. I also like the dark indigo wash in both styles, even though both come in various shades. I cannot wait to team whichever pair I choose with a flowing white shirt, a cropped patterned jersey top or black lace-y strappy top. I am torn between these two pairs, but am leaning more towards the Topshop pair purely because of the price! However some of the reviews online claim the quality is not all that, whereas the Easy Jean has a 5* rating online... Which do you prefer? How would you style these jeans?

OOTD: Uni & Filming

Topshop 'knitted lace' cardiagn (old) // Gap Breton stripe top //  American Apparel skirt // River Island belt // Primark shoes // Topshop frilly socks

This is the outfit I wore in my 'What's in my Travel Makeup Bag' video [which you can view here], and I also wore it to uni that day. At the time the weather was perking up, and so I jumped at the opportunity to wear a skirt and thin tights. If only that had lasted, ey? :P This American Apparel skirt is very casual, as it is a jersey skirt, but what I love about it is its versatility: I have often worn it dressed up for a night out, as well as in more casual, day-to-day looks.

This outfit is not entirely monochrome, as the stripes are in fact navy blue, and the shoes are of course tan, but I would say I was partially inspired that morning by the current monochrome trend. This trend is my current favourite 'fashion' trend, and has definitely inspired me a lot more than a lot of the 'fashion-y' nonsense of recent years! (harnesses anyone?? hahaha)

This cardigan is an old favourite of mine as well, which I had at the back of my knitwear drawer, and felt deserved to be used once more! It is very old now, a good 5 years I'd say, give or take, but it is warm, comfortable and stylish, so I won't be throwing it out just yet! I also think the lace knit really lifts this outfit, and makes a potentially flat combination of stripes and an black skirt a little bit more interesting. This is the same reason I paired these boots with frilly black socks: these two items add texture and depth.

All in all a fairly standard daytime look i'd say, but I am trying to document more of my OOTD's and here we are :D Thanks for reading, don't forget to click 'join this site' to follow, and check out my Youtube Channel, my Facebook page and my Twitter!
