OOTD: Uni & Filming

This is the outfit I wore in my 'What's in my Travel Makeup Bag' video [which you can view here], and I also wore it to uni that day. At the time the weather was perking up, and so I jumped at the opportunity to wear a skirt and thin tights. If only that had lasted, ey? :P This American Apparel skirt is very casual, as it is a jersey skirt, but what I love about it is its versatility: I have often worn it dressed up for a night out, as well as in more casual, day-to-day looks.

This outfit is not entirely monochrome, as the stripes are in fact navy blue, and the shoes are of course tan, but I would say I was partially inspired that morning by the current monochrome trend. This trend is my current favourite 'fashion' trend, and has definitely inspired me a lot more than a lot of the 'fashion-y' nonsense of recent years! (harnesses anyone?? hahaha)

This cardigan is an old favourite of mine as well, which I had at the back of my knitwear drawer, and felt deserved to be used once more! It is very old now, a good 5 years I'd say, give or take, but it is warm, comfortable and stylish, so I won't be throwing it out just yet! I also think the lace knit really lifts this outfit, and makes a potentially flat combination of stripes and an black skirt a little bit more interesting. This is the same reason I paired these boots with frilly black socks: these two items add texture and depth.

OOTD: Visited

I wore this uber casual outfit when my friend Becky came to visit for the day. It was such a laaavely day, and was so good to see her :) This is just a Topshop cardigan and dress, opaque tights, Urban Outfitters Boots, Primark necklace and an Ever Ours cat ring. I love this dress, especially the back, which I forgot to photograph! But it is open and fairly low-cut, but with a bar across the centre of the back. Very pretty! This is definitly a go-to dress of mine for a casual and low 'maintenance' day, as it really is just a case of chucking it on over some tights and hey presto! All set. I also unearthed this cardigan from the back of my knitwear drawer the other day, and I like how it sort of adds to the slobby/ comfy-ness of the outfit, but also because of the colour looks quite lady-like.

Yes so this was just a quickie post! I have been in Durham since Valentine's Day and was back in Uni this morning, so I think I may do a video this evening, so watch out for that on my Youtube channel! Also I wanted to a product review of the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless mascara, but (absolutely gutted) I dropped it on the bus in Durham and it is lost to me. I am sooooo annoyed at myself because I genuinely love that mascara! Also who takes mascara out with them on a night out anyways?! I am such an idiot. Anyway I would recommend it :)

OOTD: Having a Catch Up

So last night Hailey and I went out to Nandos with our flatmate from last year, and had a lovely catch up. I thought before I went I would just snap my outfit, as I want to start doing more outfit of the day posts :) These photos make it seem a lot more dressy that it was because of the flash, but I also wore my parka coat so I would class this as a 'causal dinner' outfit.

I am wearing a black velvet skater skirt from River Island, a burgundy/ brown (ish) knitted jumper with a black sequinned collar from Primark, my black barrel bag from Urban Outfitters, black ballerina flats from Primark and assorted jewelry. Also on my lips I am wearing Apocalips in Galaxy! I kept my makeup fairly neutral and pared-down, but adding just a little shimmer on my cheeks in the form of Mac Soft and Gentle (...and left my hair super messy ahaha.)

OOTD: How I Style A Black Dress // Video

These a just a few ways that I would style a simple black dress from Asos! I have styled three outfits for three occasions: a casual day at uni or to go shopping, a more sophisticated work outfit or for perhaps going out for lunch, and then a more evening look for going for dinner or drinks. If you like this kind of video please tell me, as it was a lot of fun to film and make, and I am thinking of doing more 'How I Would Style - ' videos :)

Day-After Outfit

Yesterday was my beautiful friend Hailey's birthday and so we had a pre-drinks at our house and then went out all dressed up and happppy! It was a lovely day and a great night :D Anyway, this morning my hair was still in shape from when another friend did it for me the previous night! Success! So, in light of me loving my hair (hahahahaha) I decided to show you my outfit for the day!
